  22.     If you disable all protocols you disable you're modem.  You can't
  23. make a 28.8 connection unless you use either vFC or v.34.  What's more,
  24. that's presicely what vFC and v.34 DO.

  33.     No you didn't.  If you didn't use vFC or v.34, you didn't get a
  34. 28.8 connection.  The "jerky game" is probably because of errors on the
  35. line.  Try limiting you're connect speed to something lower then 28.8. 
  36. Actualy, you could probably do just fine by disabling vFC and v.34 and
  37. making a 14.4 v.32bis connection instead (which should be plenty fast
  38. enough to run Doom).
